Show Notes: Also Sprach was unfinished. Brother (first since November 30, 1996, or 89 shows) included a brief Dave's Energy Guide tease and was followed by a short instrumental reprise, which was announced as the "radio-friendly version." Trey contrasted this with the normal version, which was deemed un-radio-friendly due to its length. Ghost, which Trey jokingly remarked was also not radio-friendly because it is long and slow, included a Can't Turn You Loose tease. The lights were turned off during Also Sprach as the crowd engaged in another Glowstick War.

Show Notes: The second set was one fairly uninterrupted jam that segued in and out of the listed songs and included the debut of Shafty. The funky jam inbetween Possum and Cavern featured some stage banter from Trey about the funk jams the band had been playing. Accordingly, Cavern was played in a slower, funkier manner than usual. The song also included some of the older, alternate lyrics. Oh Kee Pa was played for the first time since March 1, 1997 (69 shows).

Show Notes: Mike's Song was aborted due to sound problems. The first set then ended early so that the crew could fix the PA. More problems arose during Sparkle, which was subsequently aborted. Trey asked the crew to turn the monitors around so the band could play through them. While they worked, the band told jokes. Trey even asked Fish to tell the Prison Joke but the sound was fixed before it actually happened. The jam out of Halley's included a tease of what would become First Tube. Weekapaug included On Broadway teases.

Show Notes: Dirt was played in honor of the venue's dusty floor. Poor Heart featured several false endings, including a Freebird rave-up. Makisupa included a long, atypical jam. Sea and Sand (first since NYE 1995, or 166 shows) was an appropriate choice, given the venue's location near the beach. Sexual Healing debuted at this show; Fishman read the lyrics off the back of a show poster. Poor Heart included a short Freebird ending. The band left the stage as the delay loop in Halley's Comet built.

Part of the Antelope intro featured Fishman on vacuum. Glide was played for the first time since July 31, 1997 (60 shows).

Show Notes: SOAM was played by request for an eight year old boy named Sam. Cities included Sneakin' Sally teases and, along with Halley's Comet, included alternate lyrics relating to the concert grounds. Bowie included a lengthy intro and Mission: Impossible teases. This jammed-out Gumbo is a fan favorite. After Tweezer Reprise, Trey made a long announcement thanking people for coming and remarked on the fun and joy of the summer concert festivals. He said that there would be some more music, played by the light of candles made that day by fans. The ensuing "ambient jam" was in the style of Brian Eno and was nearly an hour long. Sanity was played for the first time since Halloween 1996 (140 shows).

WMGGW returned for its first appearance since February 26, 1997 (103 shows) and Baby Elephant Walk was played for the first time since December 1, 1992 (512 shows).

Neil Young made a guest appearance on guitar from Runaway Jim through the end of the set. Also, Willie Nelson and Paul Schaffer joined the band during Moonlight in Vermont, and four native Americans came onstage before Will the Circle Be Unbroken. The Down By the River was seriously jammed out and clocked in at over 20 minutes, with Neil Young leading the band through the song. Amazing Grace was performed with accompaniment and included a guitar solo from Trey. This set was broadcast live on Country Music Television, so videos circulate (although the station cut to commercial after The Moma Dance and lost the beginning of Runaway Jim). Other artists that performed included Hootie and the Blowfish, The Del McCoury Band, Brian Wilson, Wilco, Martina McBride, Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, and Neil Young (solo). Amazing Grace was played for the first time since NYE 1996, or 115 shows.

Show Notes: On this night, Phish treated its fans to the most intimate show in years: an unannounced gig at this popular west coast venue (which should not, however, be confused with The Fillmore West). Brian and Robert was performed with a yellow spotlight on Fishman after Trey mentioned how much he hates HYHU and the yellow lights. Page responded to Trey with a humorous HYHU tease. Reba included the use of a disco ball over the crowd. My Soul was preceded by a reference to Betty (see July 8, 1998) from Chile, whom Trey noticed in the crowd. Hood contained a tease of Aaron Copland's Fanfare for the Common Man.

For both Bridge shows, all songs were performed acoustic and the stage was reversed from the usual setup (Fishman was stage right, with Page on the far left). Carolina (first since August 17, 1997, or 64 shows) was performed with the band facing backwards toward the Bridge School children, who were on a raised platform at the back of the stage. I'm Blue I'm Lonesome (first since December 12, 1995, or 195 shows) was performed in the bluegrass setup of 1994, with Mike on banjo and Page on acoustic bass. Hood was unfinished, as Neil Young joined the band during the jam and led a segue into the Phish debut of his own song, Helpless, on which he sang lead. Freebird was played for the first time since June 19, 1994 (338 shows).

Show Notes: This intimate show, performed in front of roughly 200 fans and industry executives, was a taping for the PBS television show Sessions. Sleep and Driver were performed acoustic. Trey made jokes about the length of Guyute, remarking that the show could cut to four commercial breaks and the band would still be playing the same song. Taste was played after Trey took the crowd's requests for the final song. When the show was aired, only Birds, Ghost, and Taste were broadcast, with interviews interspersed between songs.

Before Long Cool Woman, Trey remarked that "they tell us that this is the exact day" of the band's fifteenth anniversary, though research indicates that this may be incorrect. Show Notes: Once again, Carini included lyrics about the streaker from three weeks earlier. Mirror in the Bathroom (which was subtly teased by Mike earlier in the set) debuted and Wipeout was played for the first time since April 27, 1991 (715 shows). Chalk Dust included more Wipeout teases. Dog Gone Dog was unfinished and sung over a more bluesy progression than usual. During Weekapaug, the band moved to Wipeout yet again, then back to Weekapaug. Show Notes: For the first show of the Holiday Run, the stage was decorated with flowers and sculptures. During the encore, parts of the set began to grow and sprout leaves. This stage setup was used for this show only, and disappeared for the rest of the run. Before Sleep, Fishman's drum kit was moved to allow the crew to roll out a small mini-stage with a scaled-down drum set and a baby grand piano. Trey and Mike sat on stools and both played acoustic guitars. This acoustic set-up was used for Sleep, Albuquerque, and Driver. During the Wolfman's jam, three people in inchworm-like costumes came on stage and danced for the rest of the set. Bowie included a tease of the theme from The Godfather.
